Annual Civics Cup
The "We the Students" Civics Quiz Bowl is more than a competition—it’s a fast-paced, team-based civics and leadership experience that brings the Constitution to life. Students (high school) will test their knowledge of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Teams will participate in a in-person state championships, with top performers earning a place in a livestreamed final that showcases the best civic minds in the Mountain West.
This series is designed to reward preparation, teamwork, and critical thinking—not just memorization. Students will practice speaking under pressure, defending ideas respectfully, and working collaboratively to solve public problems. Along the way, they’ll interact with judges drawn from educators, veterans, legal professionals, and civic leaders who care deeply about the future of self-government. Whether a student is interested in law, public service, business, or simply becoming a more informed citizen, the Civics Bowl builds skills that matter far beyond the classroom.
We’ve built the Civics Bowl to be accessible to schools of all sizes, including rural and frontier communities. Travel stipends ensure that teams can compete regardless of geography or budget. Every participating team gains access to a high-quality, standards-aligned prep kit and public question bank that supports learning before, during, and after the competition. Even teams that don’t advance walk away stronger, more confident, and better prepared for civic life.
