Mountain States Policy Center (MSPC) has announced the publication of the second edition of its popular Mountain States Policy Manual, a comprehensive, 200-page resource featuring nearly 100 policy recommendations designed to help elected officials, policymakers, and citizens advance freedom, opportunity, and prosperity.

The newly published manual is now available for purchase on Amazon and will be mailed to all MSPC supporters and elected officials.

Featuring research and recommendations from MSPC's policy experts, the second edition examines some of the most pressing issues facing Idaho, Montana, Washington, and the nation, offering practical, fact-based alternatives to government expansion and excessive regulation.

"Good public policy doesn't happen by accident. It requires good ideas, solid research, and policymakers willing to challenge the status quo," said Chris Cargill, President and CEO of Mountain States Policy Center. "That's exactly why we published this manual. We wanted to put a practical roadmap for freedom into the hands of every elected official, community leader, and concerned citizen who wants to make a difference."

The manual brings together research and policy recommendations on issues ranging from taxes and government spending to education, health care, property rights, energy, transportation, and government accountability.

Rather than simply identifying problems, the publication offers solutions that policymakers can consider and implement.

The publication has earned praise from elected officials across the political spectrum and throughout the Mountain States region.

"Policymakers at all levels of government need access to factual and thoughtful policy analysis to help inform their decisions and the public debate. The Mountain States Policy Manual is a great resource to fill this need," said U.S. Congressman Michael Baumgartner of Washington.

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte also praised MSPC's work.

"I would encourage elected officials, legislators, and policymakers to thoughtfully consider MSPC research and recommendations when confronting the challenges facing Americans today."

Idaho State Controller Brandon Woolf emphasized the publication's value in helping inform the policy process.

"Resources like the Mountain States Policy Manual contribute to our dialogue by bringing data, research, and policy options together in an accessible way with a commitment that aligns our work to move Idaho forward with clarity, stewardship, and transparency."

Idaho Senate Majority Leader Lori Den Hartog called the manual an important resource for lawmakers.

"MSPC's Policy Manual is an incredible resource for policymakers in my state who are interested in free market ideas backed by facts."

Former Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna added:

"The Mountain States Policy Manual gives policymakers the details they need to refocus the conversation on policies that work best for individuals and businesses."

While the manual was developed with lawmakers and government officials in mind, MSPC says it is equally valuable for taxpayers, business owners, journalists, students, and citizens who want to better understand the policies shaping their communities.

The second edition builds upon MSPC's growing body of research and its work advancing free-market policies across the region.

"Too often, the debate over public policy is dominated by political talking points instead of facts," Cargill said. "This manual is designed to change that. Whether you're a legislator considering a bill, a local official examining a budget, or a citizen who wants to hold government accountable, we want you to have the research and recommendations necessary to make informed decisions."

The manual features contributions from MSPC's team of researchers, policy analysts, and fellows, bringing together expertise across a wide range of public policy issues.

"Government doesn't need another excuse to grow. It needs better ideas for how to serve citizens while respecting their freedom," Cargill added. "We believe this manual provides those ideas, and we're excited to make it available to a much wider audience."
