The Blog at MSPC

The national award recognizes MSPC's "We the Students" Civics Bowl, a fast-paced, buzzer-based competition that moves civic education beyond memorization and into active learning. The program challenges high school students on American government, constitutional principles, free enterprise, and individual rights while encouraging teamwork, critical thinking, and civic engagement.

Idaho took a significant step this year toward strengthening civics education and preparing the next generation for informed citizenship.

Over the course of six rounds and more than 150 questions, students competed on topics ranging from the Constitution and the structure of government to key moments in American history.

Civic education doesn’t belong to one type of school or region. It belongs to everyone. Our hope is that teams will come from across Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Eastern Washington, so students can meet peers from different communities, compete respectfully, and go home with a deeper appreciation for how our system works.
